Terms & Conditions

These terms describe the basis on which Mainspell ("we", "us", "our") accepts watches for service and communicates with customers. They apply when you submit an enquiry through this website or bring a watch to our workshop at 86 Beach Road, Bang Lamung, Chonburi 20150, Thailand.

Please read these terms before leaving a watch with us. If you have any questions, we are happy to discuss them before work begins.

1. Quotations and Approvals

All quoted prices are estimates based on the information available at the time. When a watch is opened and assessed, we may find additional work that was not visible externally. In those cases, we will contact you with a revised estimate before proceeding.

No additional work will be carried out without your approval. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable period, we will secure the watch and wait for your instructions.

2. Service Pricing

Our current service prices are listed on this website and are denominated in Thai Baht (฿). Prices include labour and standard consumables (lubricants, gaskets, minor parts). Parts sourced externally — particularly for Heritage Refurbishment — are quoted separately and require your approval before ordering.

Prices are subject to change. The price applicable to your service is the one confirmed in writing at the time your watch is accepted.

3. Accepting a Watch for Service

When you bring a watch to us, we will make a note of its apparent condition at the time of receipt. We ask you to point out any damage, missing parts, or known issues so that our record is accurate.

This intake note does not constitute a diagnosis. A full assessment is made once the watch is opened.

4. Timescales

We will provide an estimated completion timeframe when we accept your watch. This is a reasonable estimate, not a commitment. Some watches, particularly older pieces, present complications that affect the timeline.

We will keep you informed of progress and will contact you promptly if we anticipate a significant delay.

5. Collection and Uncollected Watches

We will contact you when your watch is ready. We ask that you collect it within four weeks of that notification. If a watch remains uncollected after eight weeks despite reasonable attempts to contact you, we reserve the right to apply a storage charge.

After six months of non-collection and non-response, we may dispose of or sell the watch to recover costs, having made all reasonable attempts to reach you first. We would prefer not to reach this point and will make every effort to contact you beforehand.

6. Payment

Payment is due on collection of the watch. We accept cash in Thai Baht and standard bank transfer. We will confirm accepted payment methods when your watch is ready for collection.

The watch remains our property until payment is received in full.

7. Our Care of Your Watch

We handle every watch with attention and care. We maintain a secure workshop and take reasonable precautions against loss, damage, or theft.

In the rare event that damage occurs while a watch is in our care and is attributable to our handling, we will discuss the matter with you directly and work towards a fair resolution. Our liability in such cases is limited to the fair market value of the watch at the time it was left with us, or the cost of equivalent repair, whichever is lower.

We are not liable for pre-existing conditions that become apparent during service, or for failures in components not within the scope of the agreed work.

8. Parts and Components

Where original or period-correct parts are not available, we will discuss alternatives with you before sourcing anything. We do not fit substitute parts without your knowledge and agreement.

Parts removed during a service remain available for you to take at collection if you wish, subject to our noting them on the intake record.

9. Post-Service Follow-Up Period

If you notice an issue with timekeeping or winding within 90 days of collecting a serviced watch, please contact us. We will assess the watch and, if the issue falls within the scope of the service we performed, address it without additional charge.

This follow-up period does not apply to damage caused by impact, water ingress beyond the rated depth, or misuse after collection.

Information on this website is provided for general guidance. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate, but details such as pricing and availability may change. Please contact us to confirm current information before making decisions based on it.

This website does not constitute a binding offer. A service contract is formed when we accept your watch in person and agree terms in writing or by email.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any disputes that cannot be resolved between us will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms periodically. The date at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised. The terms in force at the time your watch is accepted are the ones that apply to your service.
